Registration of companies, associations etc

When you start a new business enterprise one of the first steps is to register it with Bolagsverket. When changes are made in the company you must report the changes to us. Once a year limited companies, and also some other enterprises, will have to file their annual reports and auditor's reports with us.

We also register termination of companies, and we manage some additional information in our trade and industry register, see more on page In our registers.

Two areas of responsibility

Our activities can be divided into two areas of responsibility. First and foremost we are the registration authority and handle company registrations, filings of annual reports etc. Additionally, we offer the business community information services based on our company database. Thus, we handle large amounts of information and can offer you access to the company data in our data base at a reasonable fee.

Facts to help you conduct safer business

Assume that you need information about a potential business partner. You will find basic facts in the certificate of registration. Information about financial situation can be found in the annual report. If you want information about for example newly started companies or terminated companies in a certain geographical area you can make a subscription. You will benefit from the best flow of information if you sign up to our service to fully access our trade and industry register via the e-service Näringslivsregistret (in Swedish only).

Cooperation with other countries

Through Bolagsverket you can also gain access to official information about business enterprises in certain other countries. You can search for information yourself via the Internet in the European Business Register (EBR). This is a network of registers providing information from the registration authorities for a number of European countries. Service development

We participate in government projects to implement simplified rules for conducting business. For example, in close cooperation with the Swedish tax authority we have created two websites intended to offer an electronic procedure to register new companies with us as well as with the tax authority at the same time, see verksamt.se and Företagsregistrering (in Swedish only).

Our intention is to make it easier for companies to bring across information to the governmental authorities, and to simplify administration for smaller companies in particular.
